New unit out of the box had defective check valve. Water temperature never went above 174, water spattered out in different directions - from seam between the neck and nozzle, AND 2 air vents and nozzle tip. Hot and cold water selections would continue to run after tap closed. After cold water was turned off, hot water would continue to run a few moments.
When technician came to change the hot water tank because it would not heat above 174 degrees, he said dispenser unit was also defective and ordered a replacement dispenser. The new dispenser works well.
Shortcomings: water temperature immediately after the heating cycle ends does not reach the advertised 200 degrees, but it's close enough at 190 to make coffee and tea. The problem is the temperature in the tank drops too far between heating cycles, so we often have to heat the water in the microwave for 30 seconds to get it up to 190. Still, we can live with this, although it would be nice if ISE delivered what it advertises.
I am forced to rate the dispenser as 5 stars, because the DISPENSER is beautiful and very functional. It's the heater tank which fails to meet advertised specs. The best of both worlds would be to match this dispenser with another under sink heater tank. The KitchenAid was excellent, but no longer manufactured. I'm not sure who makes an under sink tank which will deliver consistent 190 to 200 degree water AND will match the configuration of this dispenser top. I suggest you download the installation PDF and shop for a non-ISE tank with the same tube configuration.
